March Session

Fabulous session this afternoon. Attending were Sharon on fiddle, Jaya on whistle and bodhran, Lou on bodhran, Allan on mandolin and octave mandolin, Leslie, Fred on bodhran, concertina, whistle and piano, Scott on whistle and mandolin, Pete on banjo and dobro, Phyllis on flute and Suzanne on bodhran and feet.

Repast was excellent, as usual, including smoked salmon, cheese and fruit, crackers and chocolate. And the black forest cake was enjoyed by all, we had to play for two hours after eating a piece just to work off the sugar rush!

Here are some of the tunes we played, not in any particular order:
Antrim Rose/High Reel
The People of West Cork and Kerry (song)
Merry Blacksmith/Maid Behind the Bar/Cooley's/Wise Maid/Torn Jacket
The Chickens they were Crowin' (song)
Snowy Path/Kid on the Mountain
Cook in the Kitchen/Dusty Windowsill/Humors of Ennistymon
Trasna na Dtonnta
Cup of Tea/Trip to Durrow
Battering Ram/Banks of Lough Gowna/Out on the Ocean

Chief O Niels Favourite
Mist on the mountains/Mist Over the Mountains Jig
Hush, Hush (song)

There were more, but I didn't get them all written down. We had a great time. Don't miss the next one, April 25th!

Because February 7 is Jaya and my 5th anniversary, we are taking a four day weekend and will be gone on February 8.

SO, I am moving the sing to the next weekend, February 15th. Same time, same place, same great time, just a different day of the month. In March, we'll go back to the second Sunday of the month, like always.

Here are two videos from Camp New Harmony, featuring Dick Holdstock and Faith Petric.

AuburnHouseConcerts Blog

We started a new blog for the Auburn House Concerts site (AHC).
AuburnHouseConcerts.blogspot.com

This is where we will announce upcoming concerts, post informal concert reports, and let you know about the publication of AHC videos.

At the bottom of the blog page is an applet that shows all the house concert videos we have posted on YouTube.
